About Lauren
Lauren Urlacher is a floral artist from Spokane, Washington. As a student at Lewis and Clark High School, Lauren took every art class she could. While studying business at Eastern Washington University, she returned to a favorite high school assignment in hopes of some much-needed stress relief: painting a dahlia. What was intended to be a fun project spiraled into an art obsession.
After graduating with degrees in Operations Management, Marketing, and Communication Studies, she decided to pursue a fine art career painting hyper realistic flowers. Too extroverted to be in the studio full time, Lauren finds fulfillment working part-time as the community manager at Fellow Coworking where she gets to connect with the Spokane community.
While many assume her focus on dahlias stems from a love of the flower itself, Lauren’s true fascination lies in the mastery of a single subject. Through exploring form, light, and intricate detail, each bloom takes on its own unique character.
